I know this has reared it,s head before but thought you might like to know i have upgraded all my old 501 lamps to xenon 5 smd t10 w5w pure white versions bought from ebay.Three in the interior light, two in the doors, two in the number plate holders, one in the boot light, two in the side lights, (only took the skin off one knucle)and a 38mm festoon in the glove box. What a difference they make and for such a relatively small cost.No more dingy yellow just a clean white light. One point is a very slight flicker on the interior ones when they phase down to off but no big concern.

yeah just wait till 3/4 weeks down the line when one of the parts of the led's pop an starts to flash before eventually going out.

Pain in the neck, and it sucks considering theyre 12 quid a pair where i am lol

I've done the same with the interior bulbs (6 in the roof, 4 in the doors, 1 in the boot, and the festoon in the glovebox), as well as the number plate lights. I'll do the headlamps soon as well when I have the bumper off (I'm changing the headlamps anyway).

BTW, I've gone for red in the doors rather than the white...

Another lighting upgrade i fitted about a month ago was to replace the stop and tail lamps with 24 red leds, reverse lamps with clear 24 leds and rear indicators with 36 amber leds and 50 ohm resistors for each to correct the flash rate. You need 50 ohm not 25 ohm resistors as they need to be double the value of the origonal 21 watt flasher lamps. Might change the rear fog lamps next. At least im,e keeping the ebay sellers employed.

No. Sorry Matt, ongoing saga with my computer not letting me send pictures.Something to do with not recognising server or some such thing. Never actually needed it so ignorance is bliss. I am no computer buff and it,s one of those things i never got round to finding some one to come round and sort it out. Now if any one in Wolverhampton is reading this and can help then give me a shout.Thanks.
