Steering Wheel re-trim - Heated

Postby Dan__UK_1984 » Wed Sep 07, 2011 1:11 pm

A feature I'll really miss from the Range Rover, especially in the colder months is the heated steering wheel... Does anyone have any decent contacts in the automotive re-trimming business?

I'm wondering if I could fudge something together using a seat heater element as they are very thin and flexible, would need to figure out how to get the 12v to it - I was initially thinking the CC wires but am concerned the spiral cassette (or whatever the Renault term is) wont be able to handle the ampage (even though it will be about 20% that of what a heated seat element takes...)

I'd welcome your thoughts/comments on this?

It's the sort of thing you get in a luxury car, some people also say electric windows and air bags are too much...
