300hp 2.0 16V Modded MKII Megane 29 April. Big UPDATE, Pg.2

Postby Sebax » Thu Jun 02, 2011 12:51 am

Well, I'm from Colombia, this is my project and I want to share it with you. It began on February 2011. I hope you like it.

The patient: Renault Mégane II Sedán (I think you cal it saloon)

Engine: 2000cc N/A 16V
Transmisisn: Mechanic, 6 gears
Power: 140hp
Year: 2006

As I told you before, I bought the car in February, imediately I sent it to the paint shop where everything began:

Image

Image

As you can see the car was completely put apart.

After all the body work, it was ready for paint:

Image

Image

As you can see, the front holes where the license plate are supossed to go are no longer there.

Image

Here is just painted:

Then i decided I wanted leather interior:

The steering wheel was also covered in leather:

Once everything was at the shop, they strarted putting everything on it's place:

Then the shopping began:

Image

- Michelins 215-45-17
- H&R 35mm Sport Springs

This was bought due to the wheels i had ordered:

BBS Le mans replica 17x7,5:

Rims + Tires

Image

Image

Then I took them to the shop... but surprise... the looked too small..

Image

Image

Image

Brakes upgrade (turbo comming):

Image

This is something I did myself.. i think they look quite nice! Frenchy style...

Image

Image

Yo will see them installed later on.

Suspension upgrades were needed also: Bilstein adjustable shocks:

Image

Image

Then, I sold the 17s.. and started looking for my 18s:

Image

Image

Next: 5.500K HID for low beams and 3.000K HID for fogs:

Image

Getting ready to start the engine:

Image

Image

Next: tires... I was getting short in my budget, so i had to buy some chinesse tires... i hope to replace them soon!

Image

The final result:

Image

And on it's way to the next destiny, TURBOTEK Racing, to get his Turbo kit.

Image

Image

Turbo Setup:

- Masterpower T3T4
- Haltech Sprint 500
- RC Inyectors 440cc
- Spearco Front Mount Intercooler
- Greddy Type Rz BOV
- Custom Intake Manifold

- Custom 3" downpipe + Catback w/magnaflow

great thread. how much is the turbo conversion setting you back?

also that wheels really suite the car.. once you get it lowered it will look amazing.

Whoa! That is hardcore. I bet you surprise a few people when the traffic lights turn green (if you have them in Colombia).
Looks great as well. Can't wait to see the finished car.

By the way, have you reached the point yet where you could have just bought a Ferrari instead? .....and saved some money.

Thanks Matt, the turbo kit installed is about USD 5.000.oo; the name of the place they're working on my car is Turbotek Racing, it's here in Colmobia and has been placed as the best turbo kit installers in South America; although the thing 'im worried the most is the correct functioning of the car, i hope it will work ok.

I'm trying to get a lowering kit to replace the H&Rs but i have not found it yet.

well im sure it will be worth it in the end.. although i must ask, why spend 5000 usd on a turbo conversion when you could probably purchase a brand new 225/230 2 litre turbo engine for around haf that price..

this would give a brand new engine with no miles on etc..

In Colombia we only have one Sport 225 2006 and they sell it in USD 30.000.oo aprox. and the owner knows it's a rare car so he doesnt' sell it very easy...

The other thing is that I will get more WHPs from my modded engine than de 225hp of the OEM 225. Although I think it's an awesome car....

Thanks a lot, the plan is a strictly street car, i'm not planning on racing it with slicks or such.. I jus want to have fun in may daily driven.

Tomorrow i'm going to the shop to see the progress, i'll post you some pics.
