I'm thinking of getting a remap and reverse sensors installed and have been quoted £220 for both all in by a company in Manchester.
Most remaps i've seen on the internet have been upwards of £250 which leaves me a little dubious about the quality of this remap.
Is there such a thing as a bad remap?
Cheers

Simply put yes, you can, you can get th
That will wreck your car, I would imagine for that price it'll be a generic one for a megane, you could be lucky and it could be fine but I wouldn't be happy unless they can give you some kind of garentee..

I agree with Joe. Go to the evolutionchips website and read all about it.

I'm gonna hold off for now and probably use Angel tuning, they seem to have a good rep. Can also get a sports filter fitted too.

Re: Can you get a bad remap?
I used AngelTuning, they are ok.. however they did wipe my ecu codes from my car when they applied the map..
they did however offer me to get a hire car while my car was being recoded, although renault got it in the day after (had to take day off work) to get it fixed..it did only cost £96.. which I ended up paying... and using a days holiday..
they came the week after, and applied the map directly to the ecu, as apposed to going in through the diagnostics port which caused it to lose the engine codes the week before! It took a lot longer this way.. about 3 and half hours..
the difference is amazing... much more fun to drive and has slightly improved the mpg..however this may be due to my heavy right foot since the map..
they 'claim' +35bhp and +45lb/ft of torque (2.0dci 150).. I'll only be able to get this verified when I get it on a rolling road at one of the car shows over the summer..
so the map only cost me £96... but for the hassle and problems it caused they did the map for free!
it may be worth too, if you get a friend to get theirs done too as they very often will do two cars for a good price.. I think their current offer is 2 cars for £400..
as for the filter...just get a K&N off ebay.. £33..
