Spray Centre Console

Postby downsyndromedhorse » Fri Aug 27, 2010 9:35 am

Hi guys,

I want to spray the centre console carbon effect bit silver metallic. Has anyone done this?
Car needs a bit of sprucing up and thought this would look good.

Was planning on giving it a light rub down, then spray primer coat, then silver coat, maybe 2-3 if required, and then a clear coat to seal it off. Should look better right? As long as it doesn't get a drip run or lumpy.
Let me know if you think its a good idea.

Sprayed it up last night, left it to dry over night and i'll put it back in later on today.

Going to have to say, its very easy to get out and it took two coats to get a good even finish.
Looks 100x better, and to prove i have actually done it, i will get you the pics when i get home!! lol.

Not a bad mod for a fiver!

Oh yeah, forgot to put that on here.

Yeah i did the gear knob top bit and the surround at the bottom, looks waaay better now :).
I did knock it whilst putting it back in and theres a mark left on which i need to touch up, but its all gravy for me!!

Next thing is the dials on the dash, should be a bit of a bigger job!
