This is an interesting question - not least because with a variable vane turbo as fitted to my car, you do hear a whoosh noise when shifting gears quickly. Even so, I don't think the diesels have blow off valves and mine sounds slightly odd under heavy load but low rpm, almost as though there is an overboost situation but not compressor stall, only something like it (turbulence?). Basically what I am saying is that I don't understand how the system works. I've studied the online diagrams - I would be interested in any explanation.

Sorry to not be of much help.

thats about where im at, apparently some diesels have a type of stock dump valve which can simply be swaped for a new one which will perform better, but as i have had no experience with them im needing to be pointed in the right direction!lol

to be honest its not a straight forward job like on petrol turbos, its a chew on and although they are functional they are still electronically controled i think, im sure someone on here has one.

A ball ache, hard work, not to be undertaken by a novice type job, it involves welding a pipe onto your inlet pipe i think then farting on with some electrics.
