225 exhaust with standard bumper

I basically want to either cut holes into the bumper like the 225 or cut away like the GT. Got a quote for £300 to fit exhaust and mod the bumper.
Anyone ever seen this mod?

i too would like to know this! also if anyone has jusy made a cutout and put a after market backbox on???

you wouldnt be able to cut holes in like the 225 on a standard bumper, its not low enough or deep enough, and theres not alot of room on the 225, its all very tight.

You could cut half circles out like the gt though, if i remember correctly the gt trim is pretty cheap if you were going to get a gt style exhaust done. or buy a splitter like a few post below this and go for a clio sport style

HI there.
iv done this to my 1.9dci.
i managed to pick up ktec diesel tuning exhaust.
which i got fitted (cat back) and the holes cut in the back. they done a really good job

well i live in enfield and i got it fitted at the place called torque exhaust they charged me £100
they had the car for the day and did an amazing job wholes were cut really well and extremely even.
Highly recommend!

I thought they did an awsome job.
im so happy with the way the exhaust sit and fits within the standard bumper.
And you said it was going to be loud!
its not loud at all. it whisles alot. but also when im really going for it sounds like a jet lol

But I rather be quite than have a headache.

Add a performance air filter to it and you see it'll whistle ALOT louder as that's all I did to mine other than the tailpipe.

Looks quite well....leave it for a few months till the baffles and pipes start to suit up and it will become a bit more throaty.

Yeah iv had it on the car for a good few months now.
and yeah it has got alot more throater but nothing massively loud, which is good coz im always on the motorway going to work.

What air filter did you put on there?
And how did you fit it? did you remove the battery and everything or just undo the air box coz i no theres kinda two different ways of doing it.

Right as you know on the dci's the air filter pipe comes from the back.

- Remove battery
- Unclip ECU connectors
- Remove battery tray / ECU
- Remove airbox-to-throttle body rubber tube

Then, with the battery tray removed, you'll be able to see the airbox's air intake tube that runs on top of the chassis leg. There are three extensions attached to the front end of the intake tube: cold air feed pipe from behind the grille, and two resonator chambers. Now remove all those three.

Next is the fun part if you're into s&m: You must pull the air intake tube free from the airbox. The problem is, there's not enough room for the tube to come forward and not enough room for the airbox to go backward!

I found out it helps to first manipulate the rubber bungs(?) away from around the airbox's locating pegs. This gives maybe a centimetre more clearance for the airbox to go back. Then you must free the clips holding the air pipe to the airbox, then push the airbox back as far as it will go, and at the same time twist the air pipe's front end so that it can be removed. (That's why you needed to remove those three extensions, with them still attached the pipe can't be twisted.)

With the air pipe removed, the airbox lifts right out.

Then u can put any air filter on there, I got a halfords one. Only problem u need a 90 degree bend of a bit of pipe to lower the filter into the empty area where the airbox used to be so the filter can get some air from the cold feed.
