upgrades

Postby matttingle » Mon Mar 01, 2010 1:12 pm

currently my 2004 megane is standard, 16" nervastella, grey bumper inserts etc...

i'm planning to;

upgrade to 17" pro race 1.2's in black with 225/45/17 tyres
take out grey bumper inserts, sand, prime and spray to match body colour
put spax lowering springs to drop it by 30

any thoughts / ideas on these mods???

Forget the Spax springs if you value comfort. I had a pair that dropped it 30mm. I got rig of them and bought Ebachs that droped it 60mm and the ride was more comfortable than the spax not to mentino better going round a bend. In the end got rid of the ebach springs and bought ebach coilovers. Now i ride with an 80mm drop or there abouts ( arse on the ground) and hardy fell a bump... well so to speak.

Have to keep a spare CV joint in the garage but its all good!

So if your only buying springs look at Ebach or if there to expensive look at Koni. Avoid Spax and PI well IMO.

i would defo go for eibachs at the end of the day its your car. i would rather spend that little bit more n no they are going 2 be up 2 the job. but its up to you pal what ever suits your budget.

Ill throw up one or two pics,

The ride quality has suffered a tad, but due to the strengthened dampers its perfectly acceptable.

-75/80 (mm) is perfectly acceptable on 17's. Although mid weeks i cant ride that low. Speed bumps are incorporated in my journey.
