seat problem

i recently brought the recaro f1 seats for my 1.4 all fitted fine but just wanting to know how to turn the airbag and service light off any ideas? many thanks

think the air bags are coded to the ecu
prob a trip to steelers for reprograming and lightening of wallet

concetor under the seats, grease them up always does the trick for me.

I think he means disconnect the battery negative terminal and wait 20 minutes so you don't set off an airbag by accident (make sure you have the radio code). Then check the connectors and wiring under the seats carefully for any problems. Any connectors can then by cleaned up with wire wool etc to remove corrosion, spray with WD40, reconnect and apply a little Vaseline to protect from further problems. Reconnect the battery, enter the radio code and reset the windows. Let the engine idle on restarting until up to temperature, rev to 2k for a minute or two then go for a mixed speed drive so the ECU relearns your driving habits.

You may need an ELM137 reader and laptop to reset the fault lights (£30 ebay). If they recur, then you may need the airbags recoding by the dealership (use the same kit to list the fault codes).
