Since when does the 1.6 16v have 136 BHP? You must be thinking of the 2.0. The 1.6 only has 113 BHP.

And chipping petrolengines is almost without any gain, that why nobody does it. You might get it eco-tuned to get a better mileage.

There are no chips for modern engines, tuners optimize the existing software (remap). This will cost between £200 and £450. Good luck finding a company that tunes petrolengines...

Take a look at http://www.chiptuners.co.uk/index.asp

Let me clear things up.

A chip for a naturaly asperated engine ie your 1.6 will produce minor if any power change.

A chip or 'remap' comes into their own when a turbo is involved.. Changing boost pressure, the revs it kits in at.. ect ect.

In an engine as small as a 1.6 it is not worth the time, effort or money. Be happy it gets you from A to B.

My 1.6 is fine, with lots of traffic jams I have no use for a 2.0!

Ive a 1.6 16v vvt..

Ive been told these are 111bhp?

Is this right, if it is its 111 brake of nothing.. Its powerless lol. Need a F1.. If only funds would allow, but at 20 insurance companies just smile and wave lol

i have a 1.6 and its true it lacks power badddd. not so bad alter 3.5 4 thow revs but gettin there is a mile away.i have even tryed a k&n mede for the car at £85 but all that seemed to do is make it sound good and make it do less mpg short jurneys im lucky to get 30mpg. was thinking of buying a sport exaust to get the mpg back up??? would it be worth it as you can buy a sport for under 5k now?? only prob is insurance for 21 year old even with 3 years no claims ant cheap.
