i'm just curious as to why you'd want to do thai'm no expert but if you did do this would the prformance of the car be reduced.

not to mention the very high costs

IMO waste of time, you could buy and put in a 230 engine + requirements for the same cost... or you could just go out and buy a 230....

Anyhow if you happen to have a 1.6 engine sitting there it can be done, the engines are a straight swap as all aux compnents including gear box are the same apart from mounting.

You wouldn't be the first, I know a lass that has put a 230 engine in a 1.4... Thats more work as the hubs/gear box/ drive shafts ect need changing... She had so many problems on route but she got there in the end, although not with out much 'free' assistance. Ie using uni facilities, also this was not done with out her personal knowledge. (She has a Masters in Aeronotical Engineering)

In all seriousness i wouldnt waste your time for an extra 10 BPH. It will be more trouble than its worth and if not done corectly you will end up with a door stop instead of a moving car.

Be happy with what you have got, save the money and buy a standard higher HP car.

Its an idea, but unless you have a deep pocket for little results, i would leave it as that... an idea.
