Postby guy1988 » Thu Sep 24, 2009 8:55 am

Hi everyone

iv just bought a ktec GT diesel exhaust,
but im fitting it to a megane 1.9dci everything looks the same, but thats not what im worried about!
its the cutting of the bumper, whats the best way and easiest way to get the shape and everything right? anyone fitted either a GT or 225 exhaust on a standard bumper?

Any help would be good

Thanks
Guy

buy a GT exhaust surround and get who ever is fitting your exhaust to aling that with your standard bumper before they come to fit the exhaust and do the cutting.

the GT suround will set you back about £90 from a dealership.

im planning on doing the same very soon on my 1.6

I got a twin 3" tailpipe on my 1.5 dci, the guys at Torque exhaust done a BRILLIANT job at cutting a clean cut into the standard pumper. If your near north london I could give u their details.

I cost me £80 for parts and labour.

They are called Torque Exhaust, they are situated off Hertford Road, where Ponders End is there is a White Pub on the right hand side a few blocks away from Tesco if you are going from Brimsdown to Edmonton, opposite that White Pub there is a road just go all the way down the road and just before the road bares left you take a right turn and just go in there and its a industrial estate you'll see it.

Alot of people know about this place they do a brilliant job and you get more than your moneys worth.

If you just want fitting and cutting I can't see it costing more than £50, but note performance exhaust on diesel engines are REALLLYY loud thats why I just got a tailpipe.

unless the megane is drastically different from other diesel cars, it will sound like a cross between a transit, a bus and a monster truck :devil

I'd be tempted to make a cardboard template and cut it yourself with a dremel, then find some discreet trim to cover the cut edge (like the clio 182 has)

only problem with the meganes are that the space between the spare wheel area and bumper is only 4-5cm so you will need someone who knows what they are doing.

Torque exhaust are highly recommended and known by many performance car owners in london. I suggest best bet bring the exhaust to them and they'll tell you the best option to fit them
