open carbs????

does anyone know if you can run a megane 1.6 with an open carb?? or if not is there anyway you can put a filter on the carb so its like an open carb just with out the air box n that???

if that makes any sense :? :?

The 1.6 is a fuel injected engine and as such does not have a carburetor. (unless I am missing something here) :?

Are we talking about a Megane II 1.6vvt or an older Phase 1 Megane?

You could always fit an induction kit with a cotton filter on the end (like a K&N)

i think he's referring to full induction kits with piping, therefore requiring removal of the airbox.

cant find a pic of a delaney (i think thats who make them) carb, i think thats the type thing that your on about, with four small round filters that sit on top of the carbs, as said above the engine is fuel injection and you cant fit these, you would just need to put an induction kit on as pictured above, which in any case you will need to remove the airbox to install any induction kit.
