Your megan must have the newer lights this means that the 225 bumper won't fit, so you'll need the 230 or r26 bumper as these fit with the newer shaped lights where the 225 bumper won't. hope that's of some help.

I don't understand what you mean your suggesting he changes his light and bumper? I have the r26 one as my car is of that age, appart from anything else why would you want to make your car look older....

You have it the wrong way round the 225 bumper fits only the old style front lights as there a different shape to the new ones while the r26 fits the newer shaped front lights, like on my car a 57 plate megane now with a r26 front bumper....

They did the 225 bumper 2006 to 2009 is the exact same bumper as the r26 this is a phase 2 bumper
the 225 phase 1 bumper is the old shape 2003 to 2005

The 2006-2009 is the 230 replacement of 225 that had the same bumper as the r26 but the 225 bumper is totaly different to the 230 and r26 there is only one 225 bumper and it won't fit on the later model meganes unless you change the lights to the older style. There are 2 bumpers for him to choose from the 225 which will not fit unless he changes his lights to the older style and this is the older bumper or the 230/r26 which will fit simply by swaping over bumpers and this is the latest, appart from the completely new megane ones which obviously aren't going to fit!

Hi mate they still made the 225 on the phase 2 the 230 is the r26 thats its name very long winded one R26 F1 230.
the difference is the phase 1 megane and the phase 2 meganes
As you can see by the pictures below there are 2 types of 225's phase 1 and phase 2
he needs the phase 2 bumper to fit his car
Phase 1 -225 pic the original megane sport 225
Phase 2-225 pic the phase 2 megane sport 225
Phase 2 - 225 F1 pic phase 2 megane sport f1 with fancy bits but still 225bhp
Phase 2- R26 F1 230 a so called special edition with more power and a LSD

The red and below are all either 230 or r26 bumpers there's no such thing as a phase 2 225, check Renault parts catalogue. Your pictures show 1 225 bumper and like I said the rest are 230 or r26.....
Re: "Nige's" Project Megane 225 Rep (March '10 Update)
For 1 they never made a 230 5 door
and 2 get your facts right
read what iam saying mate 230 and the r26 is the same car thats its name
and yes the r26 and the 225 phase 2 bumpers are the same PHASE 2 but their is a phase 2 225
go on to meganesport.net and tell them guys who own phase 2 225's that thay have 230's
you would get laughed off the site my friend do more research and you will find iam right

Re: "Nige's" Project Megane 225 Rep (March '10 Update)
but to buy a phase 2 225 bumper is impossible, try a renault dealer, they told me they dont exist.... and that it would be a r26 i would need, thats where i got my info from..... plus if this guy is going to get the right one surely simpler to tell him 230 or r26 as they cant be wrong whereas if he go's for a 225 theres a chance he will. im still fairly sure the info i got from renault is correct and they dont do a phase 2 225 bumper.. maybe they are wrong too?

To be honest mate i would not trust a dealer
you keep saying 230 or r26 its the same car
tell the bloke he needs a phase 2 megane 225 or r26 bumper hows that so we can both agree
