HELP - 2 Weird Things (Pictures)

I had my new car a week ago, got a set of HID's and took the bumper off today to find this...

Are both tubes supposed to be connected up, why would this have been done?



And also this tubing with nothing inside that leads to the bottom right hand corner on the car (But is slit in half) Any idea what it is for?





The car is still under warranty with Renault and all work has supposedly been done Renault. Any help or suggestion would be great.

Just a guess for top photo but headlight washers? What trim is the car could have had xenon as option that requires this.
Second photo is a battery breather as the battery is charged it produces gas that is explosive so is taken away by tubing

Thanks Steve, you seem to reply to all my posts. Thanks for the info on the breather for the battery, never would have known that.

I have headlight washers yes. Looks like possibly one side wasn't working to they have just taken a T off the other side?

May need a new motor from Renault possibly?

nope the top photo is the window washer motor black one is windscreen white one is for the back window

iv had mine out cause back jet didnt work be4 cause the filter in it froze up

So if the white side it for the back window how come mine still work even though its been cut?

Where is the tube from the white side supposed to lead to?

For now, it's probably going to mean more strain on the other side.

as said before the white side of the pump is the rear.
the rear should have a clear pipe that runs up inside the wing an into the car near the pedals.
if you remove your upper side trim on the drivers side in the boot the pipe joins to the tailgate section.

are your front wash and rear wash working on there own orboth together because it's possible to remove the white part on the pump and remove a sliding plunger that seperates the rear/front pipes and slides sideway under water pressure blocking the outlet not being used and then sliding the other way if the other function is used. (note you can't wash front and rear at same time) well if your pump is working properly.

headlamp washers should be on a seperate pump mounted higher in the bottle.
it's mounted higher as not to empty your bottle and leave you no fluid for your windscreen which is more important

Front and back work separately yes, the headlamp washer come off the right hand side of the pump pictured?

I still don't understand then how the white left side of the pump is cut and cable tied but still everything is working?

a long wait but i have the answer.
the pump that you have pictured is in fact for the haedlight washers and as stated before one side must be broken so they t pieced off the other side.
if you look round the back of the bottle you will find a second pump that does the windscreen and rear screen.
the confusion has come about because cars not fitted with headlight washers only have the pump at the front which is then used for the screens where cars with hl washers use that pump instead fir the lights and a completely different on for the screens.

your pump is a simply fix if you want to plumb it back in how it should with a seperate pipe to each washer.
just pull of the the part of the pump with the hoses connected to it and inside is a rubber plunger that gets stuck and blocks one of the outlets.
just work it from end to end until it frees of and it should work fine
