Re: HID conversion kit
Ive got a HID kit on my RenaultSport Megane, People say they have to take the car to the dealer to change a bulb but theres ways and means of doing every thing...............
Take the wheel off and the plastic inner arch out and the back of the light is exposed. Dead easy to do it from there.
Look good to because not many people have them in meganes

I think, from other threads I've read, that you're currently running with illegal lights that are blinding every other road user as your Headlights don't have a refractor in them. The kind what you see in the Phase II's.
Should fail MOT!

The above speaks the truth.
You are going to blind all on coming drivers if there is not a lens infront of the HID bulb, to produce a beam cut off point.
When I see people with them in i give them a does of full beam. Muppets.

Re: HID conversion kit
I have never had a complaint from any other drivers and i live near a police station and have to drive past it to get in and out. Loads of cop cars have drove past and never batted a eyelid. If they were illegal i surely would have been pulled. Ive had a similar kit in my Octavia VRS and my Pug GTi 180 and never been pulled and all the cars which had them in also passed a mot. As long as you upgrade the sidelights to the same shade of white (eg, White LED) it will pass a test. I have had my lights leveled and set at the right height once the kit was installed and they dont shine that high. H4 HID kits are illegal because you dont have a high beam unless you buy the expensive twin element bulbs but with the H7 kit on the Megane you have a high beam.
I don't disagree with you because a few cars (mostly chavs in the saxo's and corsa's) have them in around my area and most of them do blind you because they just fit the kit and thats that, they dont get them checked. I am currently running a 14K bulb which has a lot duller beam than the common 10K bulbs.
Its the same as fitting any other mod, you always run the risk of it failing a mot or getting pulled by the police, Its at the drivers own risk.
I dont want to sound like im going on but yes, if i do start annoying people with them or i get pulled the kit will be straight out.

He also had a Phase II with the projectors, same style you find on Xenon lights.

They have a refractor lens and auto balance sensors on the sub frame.
