Took my car over to a place called Excel Body Repair in Reading to get a quote on getting my wing mirrors resprayed and the bumper bits body coloured. Price for this and smoothing, filling and painting (plus he said he may as well spray whole bumper) - £670 ish. Eeeepp! He suspected it would be cheaper just to go to Renault Sport bumpers as much less prep work! Having said that the guys a genius so am tempted. My Grand Scenic was in for body repair on rear quarter and door (thought it was gonna be a new panel) at Car Contacts in Tilehurst, turns out they own this place and my car had just left after its repair. Found this interesting as there was Ferrari, Porshe and a Morgane under going complete body restoration - and my Grand Scenic... That repair only cost £970.

So the question is - find somewhere to do the work cheaper - change to sport bumpers, os just bite the bullet and get a 225 or F1 (can't stretch anywhere near an R26/R) although I'm tempted to go down the ST220 route if I do that... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!

Mate which of the 225/f1s/230 ended up with the slip diff? I gather there were Phase I F1s without the slip diff and that didn't arrive until the face lift? Also I take it face lift 225s don't have the slip diff either being a full fat version?

The slip diff comes with the cup chassi. No matter what the model.

just go and get a quote from a different place, i got my front back and sides done for £250 that included filling the no plate recess

+1 i was quoted £120 for the lot, mirrors excluded, the lad who quoted you 600squid is having a laugh....

Mine was just painted for £50, and there was some damage, which needed plastic welding, he also cut offthe bottom part which the diffuser thing fits to as I'm gona fit a cupra one, in total I was charged £70 and the Finnish is spot on!
The guy who did it is in Sheffield if anyones interested.
