Hi All
Its been a while.
I currently thinking of installing a Dump Valve/ Blow off Valve, i scanned the internet and the forum looking for addittional info regarding this. My Brother installed it on the Megane 2.0L Turbo, same as my car and beside the great noise, it seems that the sound i hear before the dump valve was installed was at quiet whistle and it got replaced with a louder whistle( at about 2300rpm) and a cool dumping sound when the accelerator pedal is released.
What im trying to ask is, with that louder sound, if i recall i read somewhere that 50% of the get Dumped and 50% recircles. Is this right, where did the boost previously go, the 100%, recirculating? and i can really feel it in the car but am i loosing power, it sound like it?

Re: Dump Valves/Blow off valves
got a forge kit on my 225..
it is recirculating about 50%..
the air goes into the turbo inlet pipe..
normally, all the excess air / boost goes there.
but since you have a bov, only 50% will come there, the other 50% will be vented to atmosphere (and that's the ttshh sound)
and no, you aren't losing power..
i even got a bit of improved turbo respons in quick on/off situation's..
but i have a blanking plate, wich will blank off the original diverter valve (mounted on the turbo itself) and will cause a 100% vent to atmosphere..
so the blow off valve will be about twice as loud, and will stay open for longer
