No point on the 1.4 you wont make a differance
you could put a air filter on to make it breath better
but to be honest nothing is going to give you much
ive got a 1.4 and ive made it into a 225 replica

Hi Steve, as said not much but i put a genuine 225 exhaust system on mine CAT back...which has decreased the regular flat spots between 2-3,000 rpm. Also a K&N Panel filter will make some refinement to response also.

Also some good spark plugs and BP ultimate.

The engine in mine does feels MUCH more alive and actually feels like a 100bhp should.

Ive done the same with the zorst but i removed the centre box sounds really good now
bp ultimate is pointless to be honest only works on performance engines

I have got a 1.4 megane myself, have no intention on modding it to improve performance but wouldnt mind making it sound a lil more powerful! any recomendations, i have tried looking at air filters as a start off but cant find any to fit a 2004 1.4 megane, i am not a petrol head but wouldnt mind a little bit of advice please!

Dont think your dci will have a centre box, my 1.9doesnt, thought about removing the backbox but after hearing a 306 diesel with the same done i gave it a miss.

Would'nt do much alterations to a DCI engine exhaust system. Severely sore on the turbo if there is not enough back pressure.

Back pressure is an old wives tale, especially when your talking about a turbocharged engine.

Kinda off topic but how can the words 'performance' and '1.4' come in the same sentance?!?

Your looking at 98 -100 BHP. Hardly performance. Unless its got a turbo and super straped to it! ie 1.4 TSI.

I own a 2.0 VVT at now 143BHP. It still slow as my granny!

A remap on the diddy 1.4 gains 7bhp/15nm torque, not bad for a little lump...:)
power corrupts! :)
