Re: WHICH BRAKE DISC ARE BETTER
IMO Grooved.
Drilled discs can develop hairline cracks around the holes which can lead to them failing.
Have a look at Brembo Max.
Any decent brand of fast road pads will give you a significant improvement in brake bite and feel. I have used EBC Greenstuff on the Mini and am currently using Black Diamond Predator pads on the Megane. Both I can recommend.

Re: WHICH BRAKE DISC ARE BETTER
neither, just get flat disks. unless you are using them on track the disks will not get hot enough to warrent groves. never buy drilled because the will crack and become very dangerous

Re: WHICH BRAKE DISC ARE BETTER
I agree with anth_dci as well, I personally think just normal brake discs are fine for normal road use. But if you must, grooved and not drilled - same reasons as above!
If you want an upgrade pad then go for something like EBC greenstuff.
What ever you decide to do though, make sure you're not just upgrading the fronts or rears only, always upgrade both at the same time or none!
There are technical reasons for this, which unfortunately I do not have the expertise to go into - but I have researched it briefly online a while ago for a brief explanation! I'm sure someone else can elaborate!

Re: WHICH BRAKE DISC ARE BETTER
Grooves on discs are really just there to deglaze the pad and keep a 'like new' surface on them. Because of this they go through pads quicker. They also help by moving gases away through the grooves.

Re: WHICH BRAKE DISC ARE BETTER
I have EBC green stuff pads and disks all round and they have made a considerable differance to the stopping distance.
If groved pads dont get hot enough on the roads, you aint driving properly!
