Re: dci remap?
Difference is in the oil. The one with DPF needs ''thinner'' oil, usually 5W30, specially developped for engines with DPF. These oils have special additives. Megane III with DPF has an interval of 30.000Km though. It might do something with oil filter. I don't know for sure. It can also be a part of a selling campaign. Many oils or engines can cope with more than 30K Km without oil change. But, how would a Renault garage earn money during 2 or 3 year warranty then? It also differs from country to country. Different fuel quality (sulphur content) affects engine oil.

Re: dci remap?
Hi there,
When you do the remap which aspects of the vehicles calibration do you alter? I believe some of the "tuning boxes" just raise the rail pressure. Obviously this is not ideal!
Im assuming the remap would up the boost aswell to get the gains in torque you quote? Do you alter the EGR map? or main fuel demand?
regards,
Steve

Re: dci remap?
Hi mate,
Yes the boost is raised due to fact that fuel pressure/timing is altered, so yes it ismainly fuel demand. There should be no need to touch the egr if mapped correctly. we now sell a tuning box that is designed and made in UK, but normally only sold to be used on vehicles that have a hybrid ecu that cannot be remapped. and got to admit these are pretty good...

I got a quote a while back from https://www.angeltuning.co.uk/
They seem very reputable, and although their website is currently a bit flakey, it had lots of spreadsheets and specific graphs for all the engines they remapped. I think they quoted me £250 for the job.

Re: dci remap?
id stay well away from Angel Tuning, i was quoted an increase from 82 to 115, then got told in the day i got it mapped it would only be to 100, got the car on a rolling road and it showed i was only just getting over 100 (102)
bit of a difference from 115

Don't think anyone's mentioned KTEC in the south, it's about 500 yards from the border of Dorset and Hampshire and is a Renault specialist.
All the lads up there seem like nice blokes and all know their stuff about Renaults, so if your down south you might wanna check them out.
