Hi,
Iam looking at buying these alloys
https://www.rimstyle.com/products/detail ... 0040409860
they and 17 Inches and the tyres are 215/45/r17,
I also want to lower the car by either 35 mm or 45 mm on SPAX springs.
Will my wheels rub ? should i go for 16 Inches alloys or will these be ok ?
Thanks,
Chris

Hi...this is R17 225\45 ET40 + koni sport 35mm. Flight normal

Re: 17" Alloys and lowering ?
There's no rub, but the tyre size is too small (=outer diameter), 225/45R17 is the correct size for the Mégane II. I'd personally bite the bullet and spend the +£20 to get correct sized tyres.

does the trye size change for you cause i over here most 4 stud cars or 205 195 or 175 tyre then the size can be from 35 till 75 tyre then the last 17 is the alloy size ?? correct me if im wrong but a 215 tyre to a 225 wouldnt find the car then ? different fro you cause over here thats like me trying to fit a tyre thats not made for my alloy or stud pattern
Sorry but I can hardly understand what you're trying to say/ask?

On what ground? A stud pattern has nothing to do with the tyre size requirements.
215/45R17 just plainly has too low a sidewall, which in turn makes the outer diameter and thus the rolling radius too small compared to the standard tyre size.
Renault have fitted the Mégane II with five different tyre sizes depending on the car's specs: 195/65R15, 205/55R16, 205/50R17, 225/40R18 or 235/40R18. Compare these on a tyre size calculator, and we'll notice that the first four have nearly identical outer diameters whereas the fifth is just slightly larger.

They will look well small on the car, id say these sort of alloys you'd want to be putting 19's on at least. 20's with the correct offset will fit under the meg arches, 19's no problem as said with correct offset. 18's look small in the arches lowered 45mm

Re: 17" Alloys and lowering ?
lolz, look here right you can put any tyre size on the wheel as long as its the same e.g 225/45-17 you could also put 205/50-17 or you could put 215/45-17 as long as its the same size what theyre trying to say is 215/45-17 might be a bit too small o nthe car if your going to lwer it, me personally would put 18s on it and then lower it coz it will fit under the arch without looking too small when you lower it, by all means put 215s on your car but if your going to lower it you should consider putting 'bigger' alloys on, but I tell you one thing with 215s on it will ride like a dog coz the meganes not suited to 215/45-17, as previously stated by someone there is 195/65-15, 205/55-16, 205/50-17, 225/40-18 and 235/35-19, all of these would be good. hope this helps.
