As the title says-anyone done this? Diesels have much lower emmisions than their petrol counterparts, if i remember rightly you coud probably get away with running a de-cat, say a 2.5-3inch system-wrap and it may free some power. On the sport tourer the end pipe is hidden underneath the car, it would be nice to have pipes like say on the RS4 estate ...
My planned mods for my dog carrier are as follows:-
either 17/18 inch wheels and increased track, or powder coat the orig 16inchers and stick with s@!" hot tyres then sort the wider track, as the finn has done. (theoretically 16inch wheels are the best for handing but look pants!)
Replace the suspension system with coil overs, lower to approx 40mm, with increased track should sort out some of my boat like handling issues.
Perhaps a front upper strut brace.
Greenstuff pads, ebc discs front along with a set of 4 pot callipers (overhauled second hand) and braided hoses all round, better rear discs and pads.
A new front bumper, (carzone evo 2 front bumper) similar to an RS bumper...maybe some side skirts but nothing too boy racerish.
An itg filter, then seriously considering an ecu remap (i have done engine design and sfc maps but never tried or had the chance to map a car-think id be scared, lol get someone like RS tuning to do this)
I love cars hence i did a degree in 'race car engineering' and love my dog carrier-does its job well, just sold me gsxr 750 and after an E46 m3 coupe but still want my boat to be a bit better....i do like a spirited drive now and again and the current setup holds the car back-but then it aint no sports car, lol!

i would of thought that if you just lower it 45mm on spax springs - poss shocks to, and get some 18s shot on with decent tyres, itg and remap, and upgrade the standard disc and pads that would surfice for a spirited drive whilst shipping your dog about, rather than spending fortunes, or should i say wasting fortunes especially if your after an m3
