i have an 07 megane gt turbo (2.0t) and at the time i bought i had convinced myself i didn't need the power of the 230 but now after driving it for quite a while i have the urge for more power, ive been looking around for tuning bits but being new to renaults im unsure where to look but parts for the gt turbo seem thin on the ground
does anyone have any advice ? are gt turbos rare ??
also does anyone know what the difference is between the 2.0t engine in the gt turbo and the 225/230 etc
thanks

Re: gt turbo modding advice pls
In terms of engine differences i couldnt say as ive never seen under the boent of a GT turbo. To be honest its likely to be the same engine but with less agressive cams and a weaker fuel map (lower boost etc...). The base engine and turbo etc will very likely be the same.
If you really want to compare your going to have to become friends with someone at reault. Comparing the part numbers on their system will tell you if enything is different between yours and a 225/230. Easy bits to check would be the fuel injectors, cams and intercooler size. If not a trip to a scrappy or look on ebay will get these. If everything is the same you just need a re-map. But to be honest if your getting it mapped you might as well get a perfromance map instead of a 225 map. Usually give in the region of 245-265 bhp.
Assuming there are a lot of differences, even your 165bhp can be helped with a bigger intercooler an exhaust, filter and remap.
Thought to be honest for the price you can pick up a 225 for now it may be worth upgrading. You can pick up an 05 plate 225 with all the toys and low miles for about 7k.
The bonus is that you also get the brembo brakes and uprated suspension etc....... plus it saves the hassle.
