Hi,
I purchased some LED indicators off ebay, when i fitted them and turned on my hazards to see how they looked, they flashed as normal 2 or 3 times then started to flash really fast all round the car. I would ideally like to have them fitted as i recently changed my reverse bulbs to LEDs and they look really cool, but is there anyway of stopping them from flashing really fast??
Thanks in advance
Mike

No elegant solution available really, but you could try this 'smash-a-rectangular-piece-through-a-round-hole-with-a-hammer' solution:

I had a similar problem with some proototype led clusters for general lighting; the supplier advised me later that if they are connected to a supply that is not closely regulated, they can be damaged by excess current and start flashing - sadly those appear to be the death throws.

Hi there, right to get the bulbs to flash correctly, you need a "LOAD RESISTOR" the reason the bulbs flash quicker is because the use less power than a normal bulb, the car thinks that a bulb has blown due to this so flashes quicker! i have these LED indicator bulbs in my Navara and had the same problem, fitted a set of load resistors to each bulb and now they work fine!
these are the ones i got from gud old ebay

hope this helps

Its really easy matey, if you pull your light cluster out, u will see the section that all the bulbs plug into. each bulb will have 2 wires going to it unless brake/tail light is one bulb then this bulb will have 3 wires. but that doesnt matter for this as were talking about your indicators. Right find the two wires that go to the indicator bulbs, one is a live and the other is a earth. the load resistor comes with all the bit u need to fit. the load resistor has 2 wires coming out of it and one goes to the live and one to the earth. the resistor then is just acting like the filliment in a normal bulb and increasing the resistants in the circuit.
heres a basis diagram i did to show what i mean.

hope this helps

Where have you mounted the resistors?

the resistors are held in place by the connections that have been made, pritty much as being shown in the diagram, but i suppose they could be screwed to either the back of the light cluster or inner wing as the resistors i have, have mounting holes. if i get chance or some daylight ill take some pics, please note thou, these are on my nissan navara, ive got some for the megane but not had chance to fit them yet, so i gess i could to a "how to" when i get round to it
