Coilovers and 19's

Postby TheFinn » Sat Apr 26, 2008 8:03 pm

I finally had the energy to fit the coilovers last weekend:

Last week these arrived from Belgium, specially tailored to fit the Megane without any PCD adapters needed:

But I thought they might look nicer on the car....

Thanks for the feedback!

The 3rd brake light is from eBay. At least the German eBay has them from time to time (around 40 euros). If you can't find any on the eBay, then go to www.reichhard-motorsport.com, they have them too. It's just their price is 70 euros for the same product.....

The shark fin is from an Italian OEM antenna manufacturer Calearo. Mine is the AM/FM radio-only version and the reception is unfortunately very poor. :( But the looks compensate for that! ;) Calearo do the same design for GSM and/or GPS too, that's what this type of antenna was originally designed for and works best at. Those GSM/GPS versions can also be bought from Renault as they were used in the top-of-the-range Vel Satis' and Lagunas for example.

Looking pretty good man. Where did you get the rims? what kind are they? I have the 3 door 1.9Dci. I've been checking out the best options for some new wheels. I thought 18" 225/45 should do the trick with lowered coils etc. But your pictures have inspired me to go even further.

Nothing wrong there, you're perfectly healthy.
And with 19's you're constantly on the lookout for potholes and such that will ruin your rims, so 17's in that sense are a much safer choice. However, IMO, the OE alloys desperately cry for 20 to 25 millimeter thick spacers to bring them further out, I think otherwise they look buried too deep in the wheelwells.

And @robwinand: I got the rims from https://www.autoexclusive.be in Belgium, the only place in Europe where I could find the wheels available in four-hole bolt pattern suitable for the Megane. Mine's the wheel #96 in their web cataloque, available in 17"-18"-19". Have to say their service both prior and after purchase was top rate, and the wheels came all the way from Belgium to Finland extremely carefully packed with no fitting or transport damage whatsoever.
