rs265 engine swap

hi I am thinking about swapping out my engine from a 1.6vvt to a rs265 engine as I have found one that is for sale what would be the pros and cons any help would be much appreciated Thanks

I bet you need much more than just the engine. Driveshafts, gearbox, cooler etc. is unlikely to fit from your 1.6. Not sure if the enginemounts are the same either as it comes from a Megane III. Wiring harness has to be modified.

I can say for sure, it won't be a direct swap

all engine mounts apart from 1 are in the same place and its the belt cover one that needs to be changed and thats easy and all the other tjinks I know I have got to get as have spoken to k-tec racing and they are willing to do the work

There is a chap on meganesports.net who is putting a r26 engine into a megane cc 1.6.

Aim for the 225 engine they are now less than £2000.00. Not impossible just do a lot of planning.
