Simple improvements
I was wondering what the best way to improve the performance of my 1.6 Dynamique would be. Would an induction kit be a good idea or not? Or possibly a remapping??

Re: Simple improvements
simple improvements for a 1.6 would be induction kit with cold air feed, cat back exhaust and a remap
you would be looking at roughly 20 - 30 bhp increase because its a n/a engine

Re: Simple improvements
induction kit is best but i have a K&n panel filter and even that has made a difference with no modding.
Generally a good solid service with help a petrol out more than a remap. Diesels benefit more from remaps than Petrols tbh.
Exhaust can make a small difference not massive.
Generally though you will gain an improvement, but you can gain improvement from using super unleaded rather than normal cheap unleaded.

ive never noticed an improvement from super unleaded
oh why cant modding come as a 'money no object' hobby, then you could go all out with internals, ITBs, turbocharging, or even a engine swap

Re: Simple improvements
I've decided that I can't afford a catback, remap or full induction kit. I'm thinking of getting a decent air filter fitted (K&N). I'm also looking at getting some spark plugs fitted. I have seen plugs for an R26 for £4 more than a normal set for my car. What I need to know is can I fit these to my 1.6vvt, and will it make a difference? And are they easy to change??
Also, I need 2 new front tyres, and the garage where I take my car to offer a nitrogen tyre filling service for £12 a set. Is it worthwhile me doing this on my car or is it a waste of money??

Re: Simple improvements
I cant say about spark plugs but the nitrogen air is mainly for a track car or a fast road set up.
The nissan GTR has nitrogen tyres as it doesnt distort under hard cornering, but it does have 500 bhp though so it needs it
