Gearknob removal

Hi all,

Tried searching for this solution but drawn a blank. Does anyone have any tips to remove the standard gearknob? Haynes manual just says 'unclip' it but mine won't budge :(

Mine litrally just pulls off.. Gaitor intact!

Have you tried twisting your knob a little first? :cool:

Tried twisting it, pulling it upwards, tried forcing the plastic collar down in case that was what was stopping it all without any joy. In the end I've undone some stitching and pulled the gaiter over the gearknob (which is going to be a hassle sorting out when re-fitting)
