exterior spraying steps....

Postby Martyn86 » Wed Jul 13, 2011 3:06 am

within the next week am going to spray the grey plasic parts on the bumper, rear bumper and doors, av seen that for the best result not to use a spray can but have seen some really good finishes with a spray can soo.... i was wundering what the best way was to spray them (if i can get them off i will if not il mask them off). whats the best cleaning fluid for them first and how many layers of primer, colour and will it need anything on top to seal it?? (bit of a newbie to exterior spraying, can you tell?? lol)

cheers.

the typical step for painting are primer, colour, the clear coat/laquer for the top, this as you say acts as a sealant, and also gives your paintwork the shiny finish.

Ive never done it before, and dont know how much of each you step you need, but what i do know is that the end result is dependant on how well the parts to be painted are primered.

And from what ive read most give a few coats of the colour.(middle step)
