Fitting New H/U and Sub

Postby b5nrd » Sun Mar 08, 2009 8:34 pm

Hi All,

Collecting the megane on wednesday from dealership so sad to see the old car go however cant afford it no more.

Thought to cheer myself up I would get a Alpine IVA-D106R which has arrived YEY !!
Already have an Alpine V12 amp and type R sub.

I know I will have to buy a fascia adapter to fit the head unit, but how easy is it to take the glovebox out as I believe you are required to gain access to the gromet in the bulkhead to run power for amp through?? I have also bought the Ipod lead for the unit and will put this into the glovebox by drilling a hole if needs must.

Secondly where is a good earthing point for the amp is everyone happy with the rear seatbelt bolt ?? As I read on another post ??

Finally if anyone knows how to make the above as easy as possible please share with me much appreciated.

B.

Can't help with the earthing but glovebox is easy to remove. 6 torx screws holding it in. Trim from side of glovebox needs to come off first. Then remove the 6 screws as marked on photo. 3 of them are under lip where i have put arrows. Top right one circled has little cover over it, just flick it off with small flat screwdriver. Once all screws are out the box just slides out. Hope this helps.
