Has anyone installed custom dials or changed the colour of the led's? Im interested in getting a white speedo kit or change the red illumination to white. Ive seen these lockwood ones which they sell in white https://www.lockwoodinternational.co.uk/ ... i2435.html
Any idea how I can change the led's behind the speedos?

This was my attempt.
The SMD LEDs are very small and you need a degree of soldering skills to be able to do it.
I would NEVER do it again after finding out how much a dashboard replacement costs if it was buggered up.

just pull the sun shield towards you to get it off. then it's just a screw for the dashboard.

i asked renault and was quoted $1k AUD for a replacement dash

yeah, dashboards aren't cheap. but well worth it if you are confident with the soldering iron.

Is it defo only the sun sheild that has to be pulled of to remove the speedo is there any airbag wires etc to be worried about?
Does the sun sheild just pull off easy or need to be released with small smooth object?
What sort of leds are being used (voltage and size and where did they get purchased from?)

the sun visor, just give it a tug towards you, comes right off.

there is a single screw holding the dashboard in place, its located right at the top. the clip for the dashboard at the back is very easy to remove, unclip and pull out.

the dashboard uses SMD LEDs, can't remember which ones it uses since it was a long time ago, but they are tiny.

ok, so i stripped the dash and saw what LEDs were required. Now the question is what colour to change to? I was thinking about the ice blue through out, including clock display and around fan controls? any thoughts?

change the LCD to white, a nice contrast. i didn't want to change it all to one colour as it doesn't look nice or classy.
