Cable feed to glovebox

Quick question - if I drill a hole in the side of my glovebox towards the centre console with a view to running my ipod cable through to the rear of my headunit is there anything I should be aware of?

Is there any area I should avoid? I want to place it relatively far back in the glovebox. And is there just one surface to drill through?

easiest thing is to remove the glovebox totally - its only 5 screws and is like a 2 min job, this makes it so much easier to drill and you can also see whats behind. I about 6 leads running into my glovebox (for a switch box) and I just run it thru the two holes there for the tunebox

I used an existing hole in the glovebox (Air Con I think - there was a thread asking what they were recently) for this very purpose. That was 18 months ago so I can't remember much detail...

Oh right so I could use the aircon hole if I wanted - I take it I would definately have to drill another one if I wanted to keep that free?

yeh i have used the air con hole - all is does is just puts cold air into the glovebox - but why do you need this ?!?

if not take the glovebox out and then cut it in the top right corner and feed the wire in - this way when you sell the car no one will see the hole
