cd/disc changer help

hi guys, im pretty new too this forum so please dont slate me as i dont know what im doing yet

ok i have a 1.6 privilege with the 6 disc changer on top and the cd player beneath it...is there any cd or motorised dvd player i could fit in there! and where would it go and would i be able too keep the stalk controls?? sorry in advance if this has already been covered!

There are plenty of CD or DVD players that can replace the original Renault CD player and still work with the steering wheel controls (using an adapter), if that is what you mean? But then you will not be able to use the original CD-changer as it will only work with the Renault radio.

Pioneer and Kenwood have Renault adapters, perhaps more brands have also, I'me not sure.

Note, when fitting any aftermarket radio, you will need a radio fascia to fill up the gap between the dash and the radio front, as the Renault radio is slightly bigger than a standard DIN front.

ahh ok so if im gna put a new cd/dvd player in i might aswell take the 6disc cd changer out an replace it with another one!

what adaptor do u need to keep the stalk controls?

That totally depends on what you are putting in as a replacement for the Renault radio. :?

Personally, I wouldn't change it, I like the clean looks from the factory radio in the dash, although I've upgraded my factory radio to an older but more powerfull model from the previous model Laguna :grin

What I did do is upgrade the factory speakers to Pioneers (as have a lot of forum users), as the factory speakers realy suck :cry .

That's the easiest way of upgrading your sound 8-)

yes will deffinatly look into changing the standard speakers! i do love my sounds though! :cool:
