ok ive bought a 6 disc system off ebay (i want to keep the car factory as poss) i also got the donor car reg and vin no so the dealer could unlock the unit. i also bought the connection cable to conect the changer and the radio... so to the main question: a; does the changer light up?? (apart from the red lights) also what is the small 3 pin plug socket on the left of the changer for?? there was a wire in the picture (on ebay listing) but the seller has no tech knowlege

Only the red LEDs light up, nothing else. I don't know what the cable is for, sorry, but i can tell you that there should be two wires to connect.

My 6 disk change has white illumination as well as the 6 Led's.

i think someone once got a cd changer from ebay but it came from a phase 2 megane and he had a phase 1... i think the cd changer has white/blue illumination and the rest of the dash was red!

Mine's a Phase 2, so it's got white illumination, maybe the phase 2 changers were the only ones that lit up.

My 57 Phase 2 has a Comfort Pack - includes 6CD Changer. It has the red pinpoint lights lit when it's in use, but also all the white lights come on with the sidelights. Whole centre console lit up like Xmas tree!

If you 'build your own Renault' on Renault website there are 2 6CD Changers. Basic is 4x15W In dash 6 Disc multi-changer £350. The snazzy one has MP3 compatability, £550. Perhaps your 3 pin bit suggests you have the £550 job [envy, envy!]

no you can't.

you'll need to get a pioneer cd changer.

you can only use the renault headunit with the renault cd changer
