FLI in car audio

Postby lassi777 » Sun Dec 30, 2007 3:18 am

Hi. Ive just joined the club! great site. Im thinking about upgrading my sound in my megane. My eye caught the FLI range of in car audio. Is this a nice sound set up? Anyone using this in their car?

Basic set up 5.2" compnents front and back withh 12inch sub. using the origional head unit with IPOD Connection as i dont really want to alter the look of my centre console.

Any thoughts???? :-)

I've got a FLI active sub in mine. It's excellent. Be careful upgrading the front speakers, the depth in the doors is quite shallow. If you end up cutting the shielding behind them you'll have water in your door pockets.

just a quick question for all

does the standard HU have a pre-out?? for amplifiers??

I dont think it does, but can someone confirm this please.

lasssi77 if the standard head unit does not have a pre-out (RCA to amplifiers) then you can not connect to the FLi active subs

Don't rush, no need to by a new HU

You can use a high-low-level converter to convert the high-level speaker input signal to a low level output, for example:

https://www.bossaudio.com/main/758 :D

This is a 2 channel version, perhaps there are also 4 channel versions available or you can use only the front signal or use 2 converters for both front and rear signal.

hi renier

i thought if that as well howver using high level input and the converting hem into an RCA singal for the amps will induce massive sound fatigue....

it wont sound good u will hear clips and pops when you turn ur hu on and off. u will get distorsion. as the standard HU is only good at very low volumes (hence a shite system) and if u increase teh volume then it will sound pants!!

i mean if u want to do it....by all means go for it lassi77 but im not recommended it.

well yes and no.

if your looking for an upgrade from the standard hu+ speaker...i.e entire sound then yes the fli will be good and it will sound great.

but if u like quality sound...competition standard then no.

I.C.E is like gambling....the more you put in the more you will get out.....and the more you will be out of pocket!!

for you it has just begun....
