CODE FOR INDASH CHANGER HELP!!!

hi all
i've got a 6 disc indash changer which needs a code.
i spoke to my local dealer and they say that cd changers are not coded???
anyway does anyone know a bit more about these things
please help

The code will be the same as the original headunit to which it was attached

if you havent got the original code from the cd player , the renault dealers will sort the code for you , cost me £15.00 when i had mine done.

Sorry to hijack the tread but iv taken my H/unit out and just putting it back in, i have the code, but not sure what button to press to get it to work after iv entered it, and after pressing all the buttons several times it now just says error. anyone help?

i use the stg column controls as follows-use thumbwheel to select first digit,then press right hand button on bottom of controls to move to next digit,and so on,when all digits entered,press+hold the same button on bottom of controls till BEEP. bingo!,obviously if you`ve gone over the no. of chances that you get (ie accidentally entered wrong code,you`ll have to leave it powered up for a good while before you can start again)

Question: How do I find out the update list stereo code before I remove it? I just want to save myself the inevitable hassle in a couple of years when I put it back in to sell (I've been there before!!).

For my Megane, the code was stuck/written on the audio manual.
