Megane II Front speaker & Tweeter removal

Postby Paul_uk74 » Mon Oct 22, 2007 4:40 pm

Hi

Has anyone got a guide or can let me know how to remove the front speakers and tweeters from the Megane please.

I found a very helpful PDF to replace the rear speakers on a 5 door. I would like a little guidance on the fronts and tweeters please.

For those interested. Here is the link to the rear speaker removal PDF

Regards
Paul.

Take the covers of the tweeters with a small screwdriver (wrap the end in tape to protect the trim).

The ones in the door - simply pull the trim off starting by the door hinge

Absolutely, the door speakers are just held in with a couple of screws, torx ones if I remember correctly.

Cover the holes that are arrowed with some gaffer tape, it'll firm the bass up a bit too

just bare in mind the depth of new speakers.

you dont want to be cutting off the rain deflector - its crucial as if deflects rain from comming inside the door. somethig that my installers didn't think about!! hahha :?

Thanks both.

I have ordered Pioneer TS-Q131c for the front and TS-E1396 for the rear. So I wont need to cut any rain deflectors. :p

Just under £120 delivered from here Next day delivery too :) I should get them today.

I have my Gaffer tape ready and will be fitting them later this evening.

Paul.

I have not long finished installing my new speakers.

It took me just over 2 hours to install the lot! Front and Back.

The back ones were a little tough but after you do the one side the other side is a lot easier.

The performance is better although I was expecting more. They dont distort like the originals but they dont handle the bass like I expected.

I have a company car at the moment a ford focus, I have fitted my own HU so I can play mp3 cds. Now the sound from the speakers in that car is really good, deep bass and can handle it at a loud volume. I dont feel the Pioneer ones I just installed in the Megane will perform the same? Do they need to wear in a little first?

Anyway all in all they are better than the originals that were replaced. :)

Yes they do get better when they are run in. Do you have the factory headunit in still? It is a bit underpowered really

I just have a Fli active sub in the boot, not a chavvy boy racer type of install at all :-) Made a real big difference to the sound.
