I'me using the Dension Icelink Plus interface with my factory radio. Great sound and very easy to install!

Cost me only £115,- when I bought it new a year ago. The Renault kit is a lot more expensive and does the same, only advantage of the Renault kit is that you can connect more than only the ipod to it, like USB sticks.

I ordered the Renault kit off eBay the other day. Still a bit pricey but only half of what it probably would have cost at my local stealer.

Will report as soon as it arrives and have it plugged in.

My Renault Tunepoint (aka Audio Connection Box) is now plugged in and working beautifully together with the original Tuner List headunit!

No more lag in the steering wheel remote controls like with the Pioneer+adapter, and quite honestly the ergonomics of the OE headunit and the Pioneer aren't from the same planet.

This is not to say Pioneer is anything else than a fine piece of kit, but perhaps I'm (sadly) gradually starting to grow out of the ICE age, and prefer something that even a "senior citizen" like myself can operate... ;)

*** EDIT

Just finished fitting the thing more permanently, easy enough with the supplied drill pattern:

Will have to fit my iPod nano holder yet, I'll probably go for the left side wall with it as well.

Yeh, bought myself a tunepoint of ebay from a fellow member on here. Just what i neede, is great having tons of music in the car.

Just out of curiosity though there is 2 smal things wrong, if you skip a sony about 2secs into nthe song there is a 1sec pause? and secondley i leave the ipod in the car and its a few years old so dosent hold the charge as well as it did so fter a few days it has run completley down but the tunepoint will not work if the battery is flat, even though it is supposed to charge whilst playing?

I've only noticed a very short pause when the song number is 100 or above:

The car's own display only has two digits for the song number, therefore when the song number exceeds 100 the display "scrolls": Say, you skip into song #130 -> First the display shows "1" (i.e. the hundreds) shortly, then changes to "30". I've noticed the pause in the sound comes when the display changes from the hundreds ("1") to the tens ("30"). Obviously it's a small design flaw, but a very minor issue IMO.

As for the charging problem, my iPod seems to charge OK so at least it can't be any fundamental flaw in the basic design of the Tunepoint.

***edit
Just checked the instructions manual and it says you cannot charge 3rd generation iPods through the Tunepoint. Mine is 4th generation (the narrow aluminium-cased nano) and the latest video-enabled nanos e.g. are 5. generation if I've understood correctly.

Maybe yours is 3. gen. then? (Like the first nano with the easily-marked plastic casing.)

Hi All,

Does anyone have a cable that connects into the 9 pin circular connector of the TunePoint and an iPod? If not then would you know where I could get one please.

Many thanks

Upen
