Head Unit & Front Door Speaker Replacement

Postby sammii1991x » Tue Nov 04, 2014 9:52 pm

I just wondering if anyone can tell me if it would be a simple plug and play job to change my head unit, the car still has the original so hasnt been tampered with and I have an Alpine head unit.
Or is it going to be a case of cut a million wires and join double the amount?

Also am I correct in saying the front doors hold 13cm speakers?? Again are these just plug and play? They again are original but I have blown them!

Thanks in advance!

Head unit to be fitted is Alpine CDE-113bt
And the speakers are Alpine (advertised on eBay as being for megane and scenic I have now found!)
Mounting Diameter 129mm Approx
Mounting Depth 48.5mm Approx

They came out of my previous car and were just plug and play so haven't been messed with :)

ALSO: Can I have the steering wheel controls working too? What would I need to buy in addition?

hy there..you may have better answers on the ICE section it the forum, but i may tell you that you need some tricks to have the head unit working with the steering controls, the front display will be blank (except hour and temp, these two will remain) and the speakers are not standard, the connector is different and the speakers on the doors is only for low frequency (bass) sounds and the twitters make the rest (on the dash)

good luck
