How to stop radio turning off?

Postby tonksie » Sat Apr 20, 2013 1:49 pm

I am aware that meganes turn there ignition off automatically after 20 minutes or so to save battery. Is there anyway I can remove this feature completely or bypass the radio?

Why would you not recommend?

Guessing the radio would stay on permanently then? So when i lock my car i will have to manually turn off the radio?

Yes would be permanently live so would have to turn off manually, Could potentially drain battery, potential fire risk.
Just my opinion however

Is there any electrical component that stays on while the ignition automatically turns off but turns off when the car is locked? I could then wire a replay into that and the radio so it turns off once the car is locked.

You could add a switch to flick between ignition power and battery, so daily it's normal and on the occasions you want to run it longer then you flick over to battery direct power.
