The Mégane II Owners' Club

Hi bought a double din for my 04 megane, but when removing the old stereo it has a bar between the old stereo and storage tray. Can a double din be fitted? If so do I cut the bar away and so do I need a new casing?

I have looked at the wires and there are so many on the double din compared to the wiring on car, does anyone know if I need new wires or connections?

you need to cut the bar out and then the double din cage should fit as for wire most new radio will just plug into old wire simple plug and play the only thing that may not work is the steering controls

Thanks very much for reply, we plugged it in just to make sure it was working but all we got was the radio, the touch screen for DVD wasnt available

some dvd player need to be wire into the handbrake

Some double dins can simply be earthed instead of wiring to handbrake. I earthed mine to metal under trim of centre console with a bit of electricians tape, so have full dvd functions even when driving (not that i personally watch films while driving but passengers can).
