My car audio..

Postby joeishmather » Sat Aug 20, 2011 6:25 pm

Ok so you may have seen various posts of mine about fitting various bits of ICE, here i thought id put everything together and show it all.

Here are my door speakers, they are 6.5" Fli speakers, were going to be vibe ones but my 2 year old daughter got to them!!lol
They are fitted in custom door pods which are finnished in a blac immitation alcantara material. oh and as you can see the glove box stillopens, i have seen this done before where the glovebox will no longer open!

In the rear i have put the speakers in the parcel shelf along with 2 vibe vents.. the speakers are vibe slick and are again 6.5"

In the boot is this littl beauty, small but mighty!! its a 12" vibe 'liteair' active sub.
There is also a Fli 800 amp. (and some mess)

Here is the headunit and control for the sub amp, the headunit is the original and it works fine for me.
you can also see i have an ipod connection there.

Now ive shown you mine, show me yours!!! and let me know what you think!

Yeah had a read through most of your posts on it, looks fairly simple.
Might give it a whirl in a few weeks and see what i can do.

Got other issues with the car so this can wait haha.

Hello mate,

I used to see my headlights dimming when i was parked up and the audio on, so i decided to add a power cap and it works for me.
Yeah i defiantly think you should add a power cap to you install.

here's my thread : http://www.meganeownersclub.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=18444

I already had a battery upgrade, should have probably said that.. Lol
I'll have a look into power caps now then, cheaper than getting another battery!
Thanks

Did you really need that powercap when you have a good xs upfront and 200a alternator. I bet that jl w7 sounds nice.

My plan is to remove the cap and add 2 xspower d680 in my trunk. The cap was one of the first things I bought so it kind of just stayed in the entire time. I was using my stock battery for the longest time. I think if I remove the cap right now I’m going to have too much draw for the 1 battery and 200amp alternator. Right now with the alternator/battery and cap I can still drop below 12v just from the draw from the 3 amps. I'm sure I can give the W7 more but I still don’t have the power to give it that extra bit. I'm hoping the 2 extra batteries will provide that little bit more to maybe play for a short while. Obviously this is at deafening levels already so daily driving is not an issue it’s only for demos and car shows.
