I've got a 5 door Meg, if I fitted these speakers would you still hear a difference in quality between the front and rear speakers? I suppose what I mean is, is it worth the money, will my music sound better when turned up?
I have found a company that will do them for £80.75 including delivery within 5 days, can anyone get them cheaper?
As they are straight replacements I assume that even a novice could install them without any trouble?
Cheers guys.

Yes, you can replace them yourself. The screws on the original speakers are star shaped and I used a big flat screwdriver. The Pioneer kit has big Philips type screws. Just remove the old ones and put in the Pioneer speakers. The tweeters are much much easier to do and they really sound much clearer. The main speakers are more powerful than the original ones, you can definately hear the difference. I got them for 104 euros, which would be around 71 GBP and the job only took me 30 minutes or so.

Got a phone call from Lowcostaudio this morning saying that they have no stock of these and after they spoke to their suppliers they dont think they will be getting anymore and that Pioneer will probably discontinue them.
So if anybody knows anywhere that might have them in stock could they let me know,

Cheers for those mate, I ordered a set this morning online and hopefully I won't get a phone call/email telling me they are out of stock.
Looking forward to getting them fitted asap.
Thanks again!

Yes you will hear a difference. More clarity for one.
I didn't bother replacing my rear speakers... just the fronts.
Hi Ray
Im in the process of upgrading the sound system in my 5 door 225 (the OEM HU is the Tuner/Single CD + the 6 CD Stacker, does it have a name?) I will not change the OEM head unit for now and have decided to get the Pioneer TS-Q131C for the front and the KFC-WDA69RC 6x9 Kenwood 'parcel shelf' subs.
I have not made up my mind if to change the rear speakers or not. Changing them requires removing the rear door trim and it seems not a simple task according to the instructions I have, so I might just disconnect them since they distort quite badly, even with the original HU at low volumes.
What has been your experience? Do you have them disconnected? Is replacing the fronts enough of an upgrade? Id be great if you could share your experience.
Thanks Ray
Alonso

they do the job of filling the rear space behind you fine.
it is a big job to take the rear door cards off.
i've not had a problem with them distorting... i was in the back of my car the other day actually and it sounded fine.
Thanx for your feedback Ray! Ill keep the forum "posted" on the advances of the project!
