Megane CD player

Hi all,
I've recently purchased a 54 reg Megane which came with a 3rd party Sony stereo fitted in it. Keen to revert the dashboard back to its original splendor I bought a genuine Megane CD player off Ebay. This worked absolutely fine with the head up display, radio and CD player, however I think it was for a slightly earlier Megane as the facia didn't fit the apeture fully.
I did some checking and noticed the design has changed slightly, the "newer" CD players seem to have raise 1-6 keys and a slighty wider and taller facia. I purchased another one of Ebay which arrived today. I now have a problem which seems a bit strange, whereas, on the first Renault CD player I bought the white, black and yellow plugs fitted perfectly, the new CD player the white and black plugs fit but the yellow one seems to go in a dual slot, but even with this fitted I get no heads-up display, also the radio, seems to only pick up French medium wave.
Have I bought a continental radio? The seller did not state any European restrictions on the auction...
