Alpine CDA-9887R install

Postby JasonS » Thu Nov 26, 2009 4:23 pm

Chaps,

I've installed my Alpine CDA-9887R in place of the 'Update List' head unit in my 2005 Megane CC.

I also installed the APF-D102RE display/stalk interface, which turned out to be a whole mess of wires, but works a treat..

The factory display now shows the radio station..

When playing MP3s, it scrolls the title once, then displays the first few characters.
It was a joy to get the steering wheel controls working and I was very happy.

I've installed the usual Pioneers in the front, although I must say I am a little bit disappointed.. - I have some dynamat left from previous installs, so I shall stick some of that around the speaker enclosures and see if that improves anything.

I tuned up the head unit with my KTX-H100 interface and it sounds better, but not goo enough for my liking..

I shall shortly be installing my Phase Linear Aliante 10" subwoofer in the boot, with my MTX amp.. it looks like there is space under the carpet in the boot for the amp.. I might even get carried away in the future and amp the front and rear speakers as well as I have the amps from my previous car..

I'm not entirely sure how to get cables into the boot yet, but I'm sure that once I remove some of the carpet, it will become clear.

Nice set up, what is the specs of the APF-D102RE, and where did you get it from.

I've tried different places so far, can't find the APF-D102RE though.

I got the interface from incarexpress: http://www.incarexpress.co.uk/view_product.php?partno=APFD102RE

But Caraudiodirect can get hold of it as well..

It's listed in the Apline catalogue, so any Alpine dealer should be able to get hold of one..

I'll be the first to admit that it is rather pricey, but I couldn't find an alternative, so had to go for it..

I rather spend a tad too much and have it work decently.

very nice! I'm looking for a new HU to replace my tunerlist and got a question:
did you have to use a custom 1DIN mounting rack, or were you able to use the original bracket?
