Megane Coupé III change radio

Postby byzkyt » Fri Nov 06, 2009 11:06 pm

Hi ppl

Already got my new Megane III to replace my Megane II: P I have order it with all the extras: P: P

Now, I have a serious problem after boughting the car with the radio '3D Sound By Arkamys' supposedly with some good speakers, and after reading in the catalog that is supposed to mount a subwoofer ...
I wanted to take my amp, 2 pioneer speakers and a subwoofer that I have in the Megane II and put in the new Megane III. The problem is that the Renault is does not give me the solution to connect my amp to the radio source.and they dont have a front panel to put another radio.
My question is, has anyone managed to put a amp to a radio that comes with Renault? how? subwoofer is controlled on the radio?

The other solution I wanted is to change the radio (even losing the € 600 I dropped the original radio). the radio that I want to put is:http://kenwood.pt/products/car/multimedia/receptores/KVT-524DVD/details/.

The radio is very complete, but the doubts, are also many:

1 How do I put the new radio if the radio source is oval? There is a panel you can buy? or I have to "saw" the source panel to dock there this radio?
2 I can keep the steering wheel buttons? Where do I find out if there is any adapter to connect the kenwood radio to the steering wheel buttons? (PS: the observations of the radio says: "your equipment KENWOOD can be controlled by steering wheel commands factory-installed in your vehicle to a genuine audio.")
3 The "abnormal" (and I apologize for the verbiage) of Renault said the plug that connects to the radio is huge, and that you can not connect to the radio kenwood, is there a converter to connect the cables to the kenwood? or have to cut cables to make connections to the new radio?

Best Regards

We bought a Mégane Estate last saturday and I think, like our Ford Focus, you have to deal with the
not standard measures from the radio. Accept it or go for another car. More options are not possible, I think. Sorry. :sad

Its still a standard din underneath with an odd shapped facia - its just theres no adapters yet to hide the rather massive gap you will end up with. Its just a matter of time however.

I would like to fit the same touch screen as yours infact and it seems like its a problem :((
and I hope it doesnt clash with the buttons of the dual climate control =S

Knew i'd read it

Well how bizzare! i've found these part numbers, 68 26 000 17R for anthracite interior (HARM01). 62 20 000 18R for beige interior (HARM02) apparently this is the facia for lower trim level cars which dont come with a radio, just a din slot!.

Does anyone work for Renault and can confirm what this part number is?."
