Hi All

I hope one of you can help and have come up with a solution for this annoying problem.

I have the Cabasse 6 cd changer in my Megane with the cables, amp and ISO parts in the boot. I want to fit my Alpine head unit and plan to have ISO extensions run from the boot to the dash.

I was just wondering if anyone had attempted this and what the rough cost was? Did anyone run into any problems carrying this out?

I am quite happy to pay a little bit to get this problem sorted out, but would appreicate any advice at all on this matter. At the moment I am seriously missing my IPod!! :banghead

Thanks all
J Wright

If you are just missing your iPod, then another solution would be, to connect an iPod directly to the Cabasse system.
Alot of these cables are avaliable on eBay.

If you would like to change the headunit I think there shouldn't be any problems. But I do not know, how compatible is the tuner/amp for current Cabasse system with the new HU. If your Alpine doesn't need an amp for it to run, then the most obvious solution would be, that you get your speaker cables into the dash (since all of them are currently in the boot), and get rid of the tuner/amp in boot.
The above method would reasonable if your Alpine HU is the upper range, because the Cabasse system is the top of Renault.... Be sure you are not degrading. :)

Hi mate, cheers for your feedback.

The Alpine doesnt need an amp, it used to run in my Clio with quite a good sound (4x 50 W.. or something). To be honest I dont rate the Cabasse system that much, so I dont think it would be a downgrade. Just not sure how best the wiring could be organised without too much disruption. Quite happy to leave the amp in if it is easier.

Any other thoughts, gratefully welcomed.

Cheers
