CTSRN005 and patch lead help!!!

Hi,

I have just bought a sony stereo, to replace my standard stereo (update list) and bought the connects 2 CTSRN005 stalk interface CAN-Bus and the CTSONY patch lead to go with it.

I have connected the stereo and that works but the stalk control does not. I followed all the instructions to T. I followed the bit for the stereo to wake up etc, switched it off put the jack to the patch lead in and switched it on by ignition again waited for a bit then tried the stalk again but still no luck!

Has anyone used these parts and found they do not work or has anyone got them to work.

In my opinion those patch leads are a waste of money. I got two from halfords and couldn't get either one to work with my renault clio stalk control. I took it to a auto electricians who also couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. He tried the two leads with two different stereos. I ended up returning the leads and the stereo and getting my money back

I put a Sony in my Megane with no problems, your problem might be you've bought the wrong lead. The CTSRN005 is for a Clio I think, for a Megane you need CTSRN005A. The diplay on top of the dash isn't conneted and now reads RENAULT and shows time and temp, hope this helps.

Its the same lead, I looked on the connects 2 site for which one to get and there is no CTSRN005A the one that is on there is ctsrn005 which is for clio megane, laguna and twingo, the person i bought it from is going to replace the patch lead so hopefully that will work. I'm not too bothered about the screen just want the stalk to work, you don't realise how handy they are until they are gone.

If not then I will just put the renault stereo back in!
