Update list radio/cd testing

I read an online manual about self testing facilities on the Update list radio/cd. This is activated by pressing two of the station preset buttons at the same time. I tried two detailed in the manual. Loudspeaker test by pressing 2 and 4 together but nothing happened. I also tried Reception test by pressing buttons 1 and 6 together but I got COD 5595 on the display.

Does anyone have any idea whether these buttons do as the manual says?

And, what does COD 5595 mean? It seems to be some sort of CODe? but of what?

cod 5595 refers to the security code for the unit
Its not the number you type in to get it to work but a coded one that translates into the code
Should be a letter then 3 numbers so if it was s595 the code would be 7406 to type in
